John Shannon
John is delighted to join WELL and work alongside and support leaders to make a difference to the lives of children in Allerdale and Copeland.
Growing up, John lived in a rural coastal town within five miles of a nuclear power station. Prior to joining WELL, John had taught in five schools, led three of them, and undertaken executive headships and senior trust roles.
He believes that schools should be at the heart of their community, is passionate about empowering staff to use research-driven approaches to deliver social justice and has been fortunate to work with and alongside primary and secondary schools.
John has presented at events regionally, nationally and internationally and completed his NPQH, NPQEL and holds an MBA in Educational Leadership. He is proud to actively support the development of the next generation of education leaders.
More recently, John has been appointed as a judge for the Educate Awards which celebrates the outstanding difference schools make to the lives of children in North West.
