Cath Dutton
Careers Hub Manager, Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership
Cumbria Careers Hub is supported by Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (CLEP) and the Careers and Enterprise Company. It is working to ensure every young person in Cumbria receives outstanding, relevant careers education throughout their time at school and college. Cumbria Careers Hub is made up of 47 secondary schools and 4 colleges across the County, including 9 Special Educational Needs providers, Alternative Provision and Pupil Referral Units.
As a Community of Practice, we bring together secondary schools, Special Schools and colleges with local employers and support them to deliver high quality, inspirational careers education to students.
Cath joined the WELL Board as a representative of Cumbria LEP which provides a strategic lead on all activities contributing to the county’s economic growth.
Cath has lived and worked in Cumbria for over 30 years, moving here from Lancashire after completing an OND and HND in hospitality management. Throughout her career she has always been particularly interested in skills development, and I’ve spent the last 25 years in skills and HR development roles within hospitality, Cumbria Tourism and, most recently, her own business, People Junction.
She is passionate about inspiring young people to achieve their very best and helping them to see all the wonderful opportunities available to them in Cumbria and beyond and is thrilled to be representing Cumbria LEP on the WELL Board. In June 2021, she was privileged to be awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021 for her commitment to Education and Training.
