Dale Hill

Dale has 35 years’ experience in education. His teaching career included roles in five primary schools, ranging from large inner city to small village. His teaching experience in all three primary key stages, spanning twenty years was consistently judged as outstanding over time by LAs, Ofsted and HMI. In addition to continuing a passion for teaching and learning, Dale has relished the opportunity to take on the accountabilities associated with a wide range of leadership positions.  He enjoyed two very successful Headships; one at a small village school in Staffordshire and another at a very large primary school in Birmingham.  Within school leadership roles Dale initiated and managed successful collaborative school projects to undertake core curriculum review; organising the networking of leaders, teachers and support staff from local schools to share best practice. Since moving to Cumbria as a School Improvement Officer in 2007, Dale has supported, coached, and challenged staff within schools of all phases to improve their performance.  He is as passionate about education as in his first year of teaching.

In 2019, Dale had the privilege of working with a small group of talented headteachers from the education system within west Cumbria, together with leaders from Sellafield Ltd and NDA to develop an education project proposal for West Cumbria. Dale is delighted and humbled to have the opportunity to direct WELL, for the benefit of the children, young people and the school teams in Allerdale And Copeland  He is currently on secondment from Westmorland and Furness Council.
